Hi! I’m Sam, a woman of two worlds. I’m an operations director for a tech company by day, and an abstract landscape painter by night. My story begins on the warm, sandy beaches of San Diego, California, where I spent my early years surrounded by the vibrant colors of the sea and sky.

Now, I call South Lake Tahoe, California my home. My artistic vision is heavily influenced by the breathtaking scenery of the Sierra Nevada, where the towering mountains, wise trees, and tranquil lakes have captured my heart.

Painting was not always an interest of mine. In fact, it started as a mere whim, a DIY project to decorate a new living space. But as I painted, I realized that the canvas was my means of expression, my voice. It was a cathartic release that allowed me to express myself in a way that words never could. Unable to resist the magnetic pull of the paintbrush, nights and weekends were dedicated to honing in on my craft, exploring different techniques and mediums, and pushing the boundaries of what I thought was possible.

I find my inspiration in the melancholic beauty of the world around me. On gloomy days, I am drawn to the way the world appears muted and subdued, with a certain stillness and quietness that lends itself to introspection and reflection. The overcast skies and grey landscapes evoke a sense of nostalgia and wistfulness, which makes me want to create art that reflects these emotions.

Through my art, I hope to share a piece of myself with the world, to evoke a feeling, a memory, or a sense of wonder in those who view it.
